Project 1 - SwiftSnacks
Movie Goers Food App
The product:
An app for movie goers to get their concession snacks. Users have the option of either ordering in advance or at the theater. They may either pick up the food at the concession stand or delivered to their seat.

The problem:
Lines are annoying and can cause people to worry they might miss the movie.

The goal:
Design an app to allow the user to get their concession snacks at the theater while avoiding lines.

My Role:
UX Designer and Researcher

Target Audience:
Users that watch movies at the theaters
Research Study
I interviewed a diverse group of moviegoers in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.
I researched online for movie going trends. According to movietrends.com 18-39 year olds made up the bulk of the frequent moviegoers in 2017 in the U.S. and Canada. With this information I wanted to gear my personas to representatives from these age groups.
I researched current movie websites that include food delivery. I read the online complaints for current pain points with the available websites.
I assumed the draw to the app would be avoiding lines. Although lines are a pain point they don’t seem to be as major as I initially thought. People seem to arrive 30 mins before a movie to pick up food and not miss the movie. All groups were excited about the thought of going straight to their seats and have the food delivered hot to them.
